The mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, demanded explanations from the previous municipal administration after learning that in 2020 a meeting had been held in the city between Nicolás Ernesto Maduro Guerra, son of Nicolás Maduro, and representatives of the FARC dissidents to agree on shipments of cocaine and weapons.
“That meeting would have taken place in 2020, precisely when another government was in the city of Medellín. They are the ones who have to give the explanations. It seems very serious to us that these types of meetings take place in the city where the son of the dictator Maduro would have met for issues related to drug trafficking with people from the FARC”declared the president.
Fico questioned whether meetings were also held with heads of criminal structures that have a presence within Medellín and the Metropolitan Area.
Full collaboration with US authorities
The mayor offered the full collaboration of the Medellín Mayor’s Office to clarify the facts that both the FBI and the United States Department of Justice are investigating.
“Everything you need to clarify it and everything that the FBI, the American government and the Colombian justice system needs as well. We are ready to obtain all the information, if anything, it also depends on what the Mayor’s Office can provide through the camera system, through what is needed at the time.”Fico stated.
The president highlighted the good relationship that his administration maintains with the FBI and the US government, and assured that they will continue working on this issue and on many other security cases involving the city.

The meeting in a $20,000 million pesos mansion
According to the court of the Southern District of New York, Nicolás Maduro Moros, his wife Cilia Flores, and his son Nicolás Ernesto Maduro Guerra would have formed an organization that, together with Diosdado Cabello and Ramón Rodríguez Chacín, had the ability to make alliances with drug cartels to send shipments of cocaine to the United States.
That role, apparently, was very clear to the son of the now detained president of Venezuela. According to the indictment from the White House Department of Justice, in 2020, Nicolás Ernesto would have held a meeting in Medellín with two representatives of the FARC dissidents.

“Around 2020, Maduro Guerra attended a meeting in Medellín, Colombia, with two representatives of the FARC. During the meeting, Maduro Guerra discussed agreements to transport large quantities of cocaine and weapons through Colombia to the United States over the next six years”the indictment says.
That is, until 2026, Nicolás Ernesto would have proposed paying drug shipments with weapons to the FARC.
According to federal sources in New York, the meeting would have taken place at a luxurious property located on Las Palmas Avenue, valued at more than $20,000 million pesos, where Maduro Guerra would have even spent the night.
“The property is linked to a prosperous dentist, but it is managed by the son of a drug lord who has already served jail time in the United States,” revealed.
The investigations also point to a structure linked to the Oficina de Envigado, which would be providing protection to drug lords of different nationalities to facilitate criminal agreements and provide security.
Currently, Nicolás Ernesto is a deputy of the National Assembly for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and is one of Maduro’s four children.
For the North American authorities, Nicolás Ernesto is the architect who uses the plans of a State to build a clandestine structure, mixing the political façade with criminal networks that are now in the sights of the White House.
