The Mayor’s Office of Cali, under the leadership of Alejandro Eder, continues to strengthen its actions to protect and dignify the lives of animals in the ‘Biodiverse Capital of Colombia’. Thanks to the commitment of the District Government and the tireless work of the Animal Welfare Center (CBA), so far this year 510 animals, including dogs, cats and horses, have found a home where today they enjoy a new opportunity.

This achievement reflects a management that puts those who do not have a voice at the center. However, more than 120 animals are still waiting for a second chance. They are stories that remain open and need a family to embrace them.

The benefits for those who adopt

Adopting from the CBA not only transforms the life of an animal; It also generates comprehensive support for new families.

Among the benefits are…

| Free veterinary medical care during the first year.

| Sterilization fully covered by the CBA (in case the animal has not been sterilized).

| Monitoring and medical support.

| Ethological support in case of behavioral problems (ethology is the part of biology that studies the behavior of animals).

| Present income support (employment certification, bank statement or payroll detachment).

Beyond the procedure, it is an act of responsibility and love

“I invite you to give a chance to some of these 120 animals that are waiting and that have come to us due to being victims of abuse, abandonment or some negligence on the part of their caregivers or previous holders. I hope you can give them a second chance and all the love they deserve,” said Paola Ardila, leader of the Adoption Area of the Animal Welfare Center.

In Cali they strengthen animal protection and welfare strategies and promote responsible adoption as an act of empathy and social transformation.
